The Saigon Christmas collection wouldn’t be complete without these festive display windows. Enjoy. Merry Christmas to all and a special thank you to James for making our sharing possible.

Merry Christmas!
Cool store windows. Happy weekend refelctions. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.
So beautiful ornaments!
great shot!
Léia – Bonjour Luxembourg
Interesting images to see, John. The thing that captures my eye immediately is not that the windows reflect another culture so much as the photograph itself indicates another time. It has that faded colour reminiscent of sepia which indicates that ageing has occurred and that memories are stored.
This is a nice effect at this time of the year in particular. Gives us pause to reflect upon the year past and the year to come.
Merry Christmas. Happy 2010.
How right you are about the fading and color shift. The slides are on their last legs I fear.
Merry Christmas
Very interesting shots as usual due to the wealth of things to observe. Merry Christmas!
Life is full of surprises and interesting notes and lessons to learn from other cultures. Here, you have shown the colourful diversity of a simple theme ‘Reflection’ as shown in the wisdom of the people of Saigon through their Arts.
Thanks for the privileged and honour of your visits and kind comments that add colours to my blogworld.
All the best and may you and your family have a blessed and safe season.
Oh, I thought I would include my snippet left in your post in my collection of personal comment here.
Indeed those are festive. I so enjoyed these pictures of Saigon. It was wonderful. I hope Santa was good to you and Mele Kalikimaka to you and your family
Lovely reflections. And I also like you banner photo very much. So magical and mystical!
… “Moonlight becomes you…”
thanks. I wish I could claim credit for the banner photo, but it came with the theme — probably one of the reasons I chose this theme.
What an interesting window display.
Like reflections of the ghost of Christmas past.
Very nice.
Well said James.
Happy Christmas to you, and thank you for sharing all your wonderful memories!
Look at those windows – such marvelous reflections, John!
Gorgeous photos John! I love the colours in the second one.
Happy Holidays to you and your family!
I like the reflection, but more so the details in the sculptures in the windows. It’s particularly special that it was taken 24 years ago! Happy holidays!
What colorfully festive window reflections
Mine’s at Small Reflections rather than Happily Retired Gal.
Hugs and blessings,
Colorful and quite interesting from a unique culture.
I love these. And the fading of the colors suits the subject matter beautifully.
I took the “short tour” through this series, which is to say I saw them in succession as a group rather than spread out over days. And I think the second of these two is my favorite of the lot. I’ll just venture a guess that it’s the color and warmth that does it, because I’d like this if it were Saigon 1966 or San Francisco 1986 or Roanoke Rapids 2006. It needs no context of place and time, it just … is.
a lot of shiny stuff. Not really my taste, but I do like the colors.
