Once upon a time, The Liberty Bell, symbol of American Freedom was freely accessible, displayed inside Independence Hall. Now it’s housed in a special ‘jail’ where you can look but not touch — after you go through the metal detectors.
I took this photo of the Liberty Bell in March 1972, nearly 40 years ago. I like the image: Real people reflecting on The Liberty Bell in a real setting. Have a safe holiday and remember why we celebrate July 4 in the U.S.

Fantastic image, and a wonderful preservation of history as it was meant to be enjoyed and appreciated.
Amen. It’s the real deal. An excellent conversion to digital, great details.
Superb capture as always and a great reminder! Hope you have a very Happy and meaningful 4th of July!

This is an amazing image in quality and content! The color and clarity are outstanding!
I’ve read so much about this bell, seen it through movies and documentaries..it must be so impressive to see it in real life..
Don’t know if you take comments for old posts. Your photo of the Liberty Bell and your lament is shared here. Great shot. The image page of Google seems to have forgotten images from the past. No doubt erased by a new age and or the thought police rewriting history etc. The image page is how I found your posting. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and your photo.
