While browsing through my image collection, I came across a series of color shots of turtles sunning themselves on a log in Emerald Lake in Ceres Park taken almost two years ago. The images are scans from Ektar color print negatives. All of these images have been published in the past. I was in the mood for a re-run.

The colors reflecting in the lake are wonderful. Especially like the second photo, kind of a reverse of the clear front/blurred background idea.
The colors are very warm and inviting, I’d like to feel some sun on my face right about now.
Hi John,
I like the vintage feel of these images. The third one is my favorite showing the whole tree reflected and that lovely blue of the sky.
And the branch is like a massive stick insect!
I love the second one, there is something so peaceful in that image. I would love that one in my office so I could just stare at it. All of them are great though, I find turtles such wonderful creatures, they have to really think about moving.
This is a fascinating scene and the turtles are fun to watch. If all is quiet, I love the plop sound as they gently (?) hit the water.
Nice reflections.
Ah, you and I were thinking alike today — I have turtles as well! Like Genie, I love to watch them and love listening them plop into the water! Hope you have a great weekend, John! Enjoy!
Sylvia
I love to see turtles sunning on logs. I always look for them. The reflected blue sky through the trees in these shots, and the log with the branches running down to the water are great. You really have a great eye.

At least my like came through…WP was acting up on my tele. I love the turtles. I hate them in my water (terrorize fish), but I love them everywhere else. I am so glad you got a close up of the little one. It instantly caught my eye in the third picture.
Red.
Nice find. Turtles make great subjects and these are no exception.
