Hop aboard the wayback machine for a trip back in time to March, 1981. Erin had just turned seven and Sue had just turned five a few months earlier. I came across this image while flipping through my archives. It’s a scan of an original Kodachrome color slide date stamped Mar ’81.
The photo was taken in our living room when we lived on Reedland Street in Phila. I like the lighting and the mood of this one. I caught the girls unaware.

The mood of this one is great. I love candids. Great trip, John.
Red.

Thanks Red. I don’t like posing, so I wait until I see the moment. Sometimes I get a good one. I don’t pay much attention to buttons Red.
I also love the mood…I think it is beautiful and sweet..thank you for the “likes’ on my blog John..I appreciate it although I have been more just taking photos instead of a great photo as I have a back injury that is hampering my movement….Michelle
Thank you Michelle. We don’t appreciate mobility until we lose it. I did something to my back that’s been cramping my style.
John..I am in physical therapy for my back as we speak so I understand fully. I hope your issue resolves. I waited too long to see the doctor and to get the MRI. It would have been better to start therapy earlier for the discs…feel better John…
Thank you for your concern Michelle. Hoping your PT works out for you. My problem is muscle(s). I pulled or twisted something but I’m healing.
John..get it checked out..I waited too long and it would have been better to get the MRI and to get a physical therapy program going sooner..I hope your back feels better soon John…
Thank you Michelle. My back (and the rest of my old core muscles) are healing. Just takes time.
That’s good news John…our backs aren’t as young as they used to be I guess….
This is a sweet shot, John. They are so absorbed in their moment…getting ready to go outside in the cold, maybe?
I’ve missed your more frequent posts, I hope you’re just busy with other things and that life is being good to you!
Thanks Dimple. I don’t remember if they were coming or going — too many intervening years. I’ve been busy with other stuff and thanks for asking.
I love this one John! So sweet.
I know on one of your posts you talk about how you are scanning your old slides, can you direct me? Please.
Hi Val and thank you. I don’t know if I have a good tutorial on scanning old color slides. Send me an email with what you have in mind and I can probably give you much better advice.
[...] Over the course of the decades, I have memories of some which were not single day productions. These days, rather than test my memory any further, I merely make notes in Mantra’s notebook when a poem takes more than 24 hours to complete. The notes will make it easier to find the mood and the analysis when we use one of John’s creations. [...]
