I am eager to get out into the woods again. I’m driving again so I will be getting out more often. Meanwhile, I raided my archives and pulled out a photo I took several years ago along the 911 trail in the back of Chestnut Branch Park.
The play of light and shadow brings me back for more and more. It’s never the same, one of the wonderful aspects of life — contrast and change.
Such a bright day! This one is lovely. Makes me look for designs in the shadows the way I do with the clouds.
Thanks Red
It must be wonderful to gain that independence again John especially as I see myself heading the other way..for a while.. I love this photos…I love the woods.. Michelle
Thank You Michelle. I had five weeks with no chemo over the holidays and quit taking codeine tabs 4x each day so my head was clear. I drove myself to chemo Monday and Tuesday and was out again on Wed. Felt good. I’m a bit antsy going into the woods alone but I’ll be careful and won’t go far when I do.
Keep the faith Michelle.
I like the way you cropped the photo to accentuate the vertical lines. And the composition with the path leading from lower right to left is classic. But the fact that the path is only in the lower 1/3 further accentuates the height of the trees. Very nice job!
Thank you Steve. The photo is full frame. I did all the cropping in my viewfinder with this one. I operate on instinct when taking photos and it seems to work nicely for me. Photography is a gestalt.
All in the viewfinder, eh? Great instinct. Even MORE impressive! :-))
The light is so beautiful. I love this.
Thanks Dstar
I am so in awe of this picture John, it is fantastic. I am glad you are driving yourself. Sending you some strength.
Thank you Val. I can use the strength. Can’t wait to get out into the woods again. Soon, John — real soon.
Yes I imagine that photo would change many times throughout the day. This is a nice shot.
Gorgeous image! I love the pattern of light and shadow on the path.
